Welcome to the

Petermann Lab

We are interested in molecular mechanisms around DNA replication and genome stability. Replication stress is a central source of genomic instability in human diseases such as cancer, but also an important mechanism through which cancer therapies kill dividing cells.

We are particularly interested in obstacles to replication fork progression and how they arise. These include simple obstacles such as blocking lesions on the DNA template, and complex obstacles such as the transcription machinery and homologous recombination.
